Ling Ling potsticker sauce is a quick homemade dipping sauce with a savory, lightly sweet and tangy flavor. Soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, fresh ginger, garlic, and toasted sesame oil come together in about 5 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon finely grated fresh garlic

Method
 

  1. Combine the base: Add soy sauce and water to a small bowl.
  2. Dissolve the sugar: Stir in brown sugar until it begins to dissolve.
  3. Add vinegar: Mix in the rice vinegar until evenly combined.
  4. Add aromatics: Stir in the finely grated ginger and garlic.
  5. Finish the sauce: Add toasted sesame oil and stir well.
  6. Taste and adjust: Add a few drops of rice vinegar for more tang or a small pinch of brown sugar for extra sweetness.
  7. Serve: Pour the ling ling potsticker sauce into small dipping bowls and serve with hot potstickers.

Notes

  • For more tang: Add rice vinegar ¼ teaspoon at a time.
  • For less saltiness: Add ½ teaspoon water and taste again.
  • For more sweetness: Add a small pinch of brown sugar.
  • For a spicy version: Add chili crisp, chili oil, or sriracha.
  • For the freshest flavor: Use freshly grated ginger and garlic.
Storage: Keep the homemade sauce covered and refrigerated, and use it within several days.
